Clearing Local DNS Cache in Windows
August 30th, 2004
I was having some trouble reaching a host (whose IP I had just changed) because Windows was caching the resolution of the name. One little call to ipconfig fixed it:
ipconfig /flushdns

Thank you so much for sharing this information.
It was 3.17am in the US eastern.
This helped me …a LOT.
Thanks Again,
-Ash.
I still have “Could not flush DNS resolver Cache: Function failed during execution” after entering the above sudgested >ipconfig /flushdns.
I can not see the local network nor can go to Internet, a brend new HP PC. Can any one help?
Thanks, Meni
Hope this is not too late to help!
Meni try this:
START>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services.
Under “DNS Client” make sure “Status” is on “STARTED” and “Startup type” is on “MANUAL”
This should solve it!
ERlack$.
Try this: go to Start-Control Panel-Administrative Tools- Services-DNS Client. Check if it is enabled, set to manual.Should solve your problem.
i have the same trouble as Meni.
i get the same error on a brand new hp laptop.
