Wow - this is great! I was searching for a way to get my Replaytv Shows on my XBOX and this works perfectly. It took a couple of hours to figure it all out, but this is exactly what I was looking for.

I'm running Vista Premium and had a hard time getting the program to work because the program does not handle spaces in the folders. So I moved my DVarchive folder to c:\Dell\Local and then created a new folder c:\users\public\recorded for the converted files.

Running the program in CMD worked fine - just remember that you don't need the quotes.

Setting it up as a Task means you need the quotes.

My biggest problem was trying to convert a file that was recorded in a "medium" quality setting on Replaytv. That doesn't seem to work right. Low Quality works fine and I think High will work too (it's converting as I speak).

The each one hour long Spartacus took less than 2 minutes each to convert.

Now I can finally watch these shows in the Man Cave.

ps: look for me on poopli but my kids have taken over my Replay unit. If you like Phineas and Ferb, it's the place to go. You can imagine my need to archive Spartacus from curious children.

Hey, great tool... Unfortunately, I am having trouble using it. I was able to successfully move 3 videos to this format. Now, however, whenever I try to run it, I get the following error:

C:\Users\Jimrin\Downloads\Replay2DVRMS>replay2dvrms.exe "C:\Users\Jimrin\Documen
ts\ReplayTV\TV" "C:\Users\Public\TV\CSI- NY - Boo.mpg"
Converting C:\Users\Jimrin\Documents\ReplayTV\TV\CSI- NY - Boo.mpg :: C:\Users\P
ublic\TV\CSI: NY_KTVT_31_10_2007_08_00_00.dvr-ms

Unhandled Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007007B): T
he filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

 at DirectShowLib.DsError.ThrowExceptionForHR(Int32 hr)
at todvrms.SBEHelper.Convert(String sourceFile, String targetFile, IDictionar
y addAttributes, String grfPath, Boolean verbose, Boolean debug)
 at Jez.Replay2DVRMS.ConversionEngine.ConvertFile(String replayFile, String ou
tputFile, Boolean deleteReplayFile)
 at Jez.Replay2DVRMS.Program.Main(String[] args)

As you can see, this example is for converting a specific TV show, but I get the error too as well for folders. I tried various folder names, too, since the message refers to path. It starts to create the file (ie, the SBE file starts to be created in the destination directory), but this error occurs pretty much immediately. I tried various things like rebooting, etc. I am running Windows 7 RC 1.
